Brindaban dedicated to the memory of Shrimant Baji Rao Peshwa
Description
On the bank of the river stands a chhatri (cenotaph, built of variegated sandstone) of Peshwa Baji Rao I, who died here in 1740. It is enclosed with a dharmashala of strong masonry and two temples dedicated, respectively, to Nilkantheshwara Mahadeva and Rameshvara. The village covers an area of 402 hectares and according to the Census of 1961, it is occupied by 74 persons only.
