Chistikhan’s Mahal

Description
The place of this building originally consisted of a central court enclosed by a number of halls and rooms of which traces are still visible on its south and north. The southern wing, however, is somewhat better preserved. In one of the rooms at its eastern end the walls are seen coloured enamels and painting giving a faint idea about the original character of the building. From a pavilion on this side steps go down to an underground cell. The palace was evidently built as a retreat in the rainy season when the valley used to be lush green with hill- streams and waterfalls giving an added grandeur to the scenery. This building stands on the edge of the projecting spur of the hill to its east commanding an excellent view of the valley below.
